It tracks the current window title and application over time so that you can see what you were doing, when and for how long. Then it gives you a somewhat friendly interface to browse through all that data. Please note that work tracker makes no attempt to secure or distribute the collected data. You retain sole ownership and sole responsibility for your personal information.

As long as the titles of your windows are meaningful to you, WorkTracker will help you figure out what you were doing when. Track the open mailbox in Mail, the current page in Safari, the images in Photoshop, the documents in Office, the folders in Finder, The Movies and web pages and coding and scripting and everything else. WorkTracker uses the same information as Expose and the Dock, so it will work with any application.

As of the fifth release there is support for requesting additional information from the current application via apple events. In most cases the included script requests the url associated with the front document. Several popular applications are supported and adding more is as easy as writing an apple script. There are also buttons to reveal the associated files in the Finder or try to open them in the original application.

It does not write when the hard drive is spun down and does not track windows when the monitor is dimmed or the screen saver is active. It has a few other niceties and is stable and easy to use. It is still in testing, although there has never been a problem reported. Occasionally I add a new feature as it helps me, and I would consider any feature suggestions as time permits.
