Alows detailed specification such as exact matching artist or album title, require year or not, match a specific year, or match a specific number of tracks. There is also the possibility to specify two track names that are required, although this slows down search speed. Search speed is around 3-5 seconds for most searches on my machine, although some searched can take a lot longer.

I wrote this tool mainly because I wanted to search the database locally and to get better control over the search parameters.

The program should be placed in the same directory where you have unpacked your downloaded freedb database. The tool has been developed and tested with the windows version of the database. On the first startup 3 index files are created, this can take a couple of minutes.

To use this program you need to have MS .Net framework installed, the latest version of it can be downloaded from www.microsoft.com you can free download FreeDbOffline 1.6.2358.13839 now.
