Filename Extractor 1.1 Description

"Offer an easy way to get a list of filenames that allows you to copy and paste."

BS Editor: Getting a list of FileNames can be a tricky task. Windows doesn't allow you to copy and paste just names of files, it tries to copy the actual file. Filename Extractor offers an easy way to get a list of filenames in a format that allows you to copy and paste, edit, save, or print the filenames extracted.

Browse for files or Drag and Drop
You can add filenames to the Filename Extractor by either clicking the Browse button and selecting the filenames you want extracted, or you can simply drag and drop files into the Filename Extractor window. Filenames will be added to the end of the list. Click the Clear button to delete all filenames extracted.

Include Full Path option
If you need the full path of the filename, check the Include Full Path option. This will give you results such as C:\Windows\Explorer.exe as opposed to simply Explorer.exe.

Edit Filenames
Sometimes simply getting a list of filenames isn't quite enough - you need to add some sort of text either before or after each filename for some process to work (html photo albums come to mind). By using the Edit Filenames feature you can quickly edit the filenames to meet your requirements.
Click Edit -> Edit Filenames (Ctrl+E) or click the Pencil icon on the toolbar to open the Edit Filenames dialog. Text entered in the "Prepend with" field will be added before all filenames while text entered in the "Append with" field will be added to the end of all filenames. Check the "Automatically apply to new filenames" to automatically edit new entries with the prepend and append text.

Always on Top Option
Click Options -> Always On Top (Ctrl+T) or click the yellow windows icon to toggle the Always On Top state.

Save or Print results
You can save the filenames extracted to a txt file or print them for your convenience. you can free download Filename Extractor 1.1 now.
