To their credit, Microsoft does provide a registry workaround for the rest of us.

Daylight Saving Time Fix is a utility that will update any machine to the new daylight saving format (XP, NT, 2000, 2003, Vista). Obviously you only need it for 2000, or NT since those operating systems have dropped off support.

It updates Daylight Saving Time (Yes it is Saving, not Savings) in these time zones:

· Eastern Standard Time Zone
· Mountain Standard Time Zone
· Pacific Standard Time Zone

Please note that now we are past March 11th 1:59am the time will *not* be moved forward automatically when installing this patch.

Windows is not smart enough to 'know' that it is in the new dst unless it SEES the transition Between 1:59am and 2:00am on March 11th.

This means you will need to set your clock forward an hour *after* using the patch. Your system will then switch fine at the proper time from this point on.
